I do! Genome@Home on my brand new 1.6A at 2.13ghz :)
Not for Team Anandtech though.

SETI@Home on a dozen machines in the Pay-To-Play LAN at my friend's game store, as well as on a machine at home, although I am running ECCp-109 on it right now.

I used to run seti on my 2 computers. Then I figured out that having a computer at 100% processor use in my room was causing it to heat to ungodly levels. I uninstalled seti and my room dropped at least 5-10 degrees.

Another Team Anandtech UD member right here. My grandmother died of breast cancer last year and my mother had a bout with it a couple years ago. I'm not really sure how much good this does, but it makes me feel like I'm always doing a little something to try and help out. I used to have it running on about 6 or 7 systems although I'm currently down to 4. None of them are 1Gig+ systems, but they do ok.

<< what's the point of running dc on your comp? >>

To waste electricity.

As far as I know, not a single distributed computing application has ever come up with any useful information, despite the billions of hours of CPU time.

RC5 - Using millions of computers to try and prove that you can knock down a locked door with a battering ram

SETI - Using millions of computers to look for "something" who or what that is or whether it even exists is unknown. They haven't found it yet.... wonder why.

At least the cancer one has a useful goal, but I haven't heard of anyone progessing towards a cure based on the DC application. I think a cure for cancer will require a lot more input from intelligent doctors than from computers gonig through every possible combination of some algorithm.

hey you can't find something if you don't bother looking.

I do! I crunch SETI as well as ECCp-109 for TA!!

Running parallel, i get about 6hr seti units, and about 20-40 units per hour on eccp(400k IPS)
going alone i get 4hr seti units, and then just a bit over a million ips on eccp

only on one, but i'm tempted to build some dc machines. I just got a unopened box of six 366 celerons. I'm sure each one can handle 550+ just got to find cheap mobo's..

eccp109 on 2 machines 24x7. eccp109 on 2 machines whenever they happen to be on. I have a dual p3 that isnt running right now (need to find a place for it) and a ppro that will be loaded with eccp when I get the chance.

I've got lots of computers cracking away on RC5. I've helped a few people at school with computer problems on the condition that they let me install the client on their computers.
The biggest contributors to my stats are my main computer (Dual PIII450) and my computer at work (P4 1.5GHz).
I will be making a new addition VERY soon (I'm building it as I type this): A Dual Athlon MP 1800+
