MPG is only important from a financial standpoint; it actually matters very little in terms of environmental friendliness. Even the most extravagent vehicles (Ford Excursion anyone?) release fewer hydrocarbons than anyone driving a car over a decade old.

Oh, who clicked "70+" in the poll? My foot! :p

I get 13-14 mpg in my gas-sucking SUV. :(:(:(

2001 Trooper/3.5L V6. Worse mileage (not by much, though...) than same-size SUVs w/small V8's. Granted, I'm 90% happy with the power (it'll fly, but you have to nail the pedal, and that makes the gas gauge needle go "Whheeeeeee!!! *thunk*) but I wish it got just a little better mileage. I'd be happy with high-teens.

The trade-off however, is that there's no place I can't go (low-range 4WD is the true schiznitz), rain-flooded streets are nary a challenge, and lowered Civic Del Sols get stuck b/t my tire and the wheelwell...like a piece of gum on the bottom of your shoe. :D

Also, I could pretty much fit the average econobox ricemobile in the back of my truck w/the rear seats folded down. (j/k, but it's close...moved two bookcases last week... each 5 feet tall by 4 feet wide...no problem)

I'm sure we got single digit for our previous old boat, 85 Bonneville.

On our new ride, Oldsmobile Intrigue, we're only getting around 13mpg. Is this normal for a new vehicle? Will mpg improve as it gets broken in?

I get about 27 miles per gallon on my 91 Prelude Si... Kind of sad considering its a 2.1 liter engine

For all your FWD/compact car/import/honda/4 banger smack talking, it's really funny that you drive a 4 cylinder honda accord. :p

It best not be the sub 100 hp version. :p

My 92 Civic LX (5 speed) got from 25-42, depending how and where I was driving.

With my POS 94 Saturn SL2, also a 5 speed, I haven't seen over 23. :|

I can't afford $350 a month for liability only on a Mustang. Maybe you can but I'm not rich, sorry :p

It's the 120hp version EFI version, my dad owns the carb version

And compared to our Ford, which has had a total of less than $150 in repairs on it (and 2 cans of freon, free from a friend) we've had over $5000 in repairs on both my dads and my own Honda. (He drives an 88 Accord LX, mine a 88 LXi) I can't wait to get rid of this pos, which I might add, the compressor for the AC and the dashboard clock is also out as well as the clock. (Clock ~ $50, compressor + labor to install = $1300, more than half the book value of the car)

PsychoAndy - yea it sucks but its only about $11 a week for gas so it's not too big of a dent on the wallet
