My driving everywhere is going 45 miles to work, 20 miles to Walmart, 35 miles to the mall and other shopping, 100 miles to see family or friends.

The furthest drive I have to make regularly is 24 miles. I do that about once a week. Everyone I know lives within 1.4 miles of my house. With the exception of my friends in london, and with them I just take the train and the tube.

i drive an avg. of 1200 miles per month. i have 22000 on my gmc bought December of 09.

This includes a few trips of 3500 miles each per year back to Michigan

I put about 50K on my work truck in the same period, about 2700 miles per month.

I drive maybe 3 or 4 thousand miles a year and I drive everywhere.

Stuff is more spread out in the US and Canada.

I don't drive my car a lot, comparatively. I have 49,000km on my car and it's six years old, so 8167km/year on average, or 5105mi.

Yeah I know that's the case, I just assumed people stayed where they lived / worked and just drove over distances when they wanted to go elsewhere...

A lot of people live in suburban bedroom communities. Transit here sucks and is expensive, so everyone drives. I'm 50km outside of downtown Toronto. Would be 100km/day for me to commute. 500km/week. Adds up fast.

A lot of people live 20-50 miles from work. I know some that are in the 60-90 miles range. People tend to spread out a bit here.

I do often forget about the whole public transport thing in the US of A, I always assume that you can just hop on a train...

Yeah i don't really get that.

My Subaru has about 12k since I bought it in July of last year. The MR2 has..I'm not sure, but probably less than 2k in the same timeframe. I haven't rode the bike since last August.

Hmm after reading these, now I get why people are shocked when I tell them how much I drive. I thought 8-10k a year was pretty average.

I've put 26k on my vehicle since I got it last September. I'll probably hit 30k before the 1 year mark.

Previous year on the previous car was nearly 40k.

Unless something changes, I'll probably put around 25k on the truck in the following year.
