I always found comparisons of coke (in the south it's all coke) versus water funny. Especially when emails like this were going around. I was always tempted to try the steak thing, but then I just couldn't bring myself to risk the steak.
I occassionally have a diet soda (hey I was born a Hoosier) but stick mainly to water....I actually get water cravings throughout the day, that and beer cravings but until they install a kegerator at work I'll have to make due with just water.

The steak myth was busted on TV on the Mythbusters. It was simply caramelized by the sugar.
In fact, the only Coke myth that stood up was that Coke is effective at cleaning up blood, and as a chrome cleaner. And that has more to do with the carbonation than anything else.
Must have missed that mythbusters. I love that show
