Language is inherently colloquial. Technically speaking, he may not be lyng but there is a spectrum that everyone uses that determines how far stretched truth can be considered a lie. What I'm trying to say is that no newspaper will accuse McCain is lying in an article (because that requires facts that would have to stand up in court). Instead, they put it in their editorial pages, where it is seen opinion. Hence, McCain can always claim that h never lied, but the litmus test can say otherwise, whether or not it's true.

McCain himself has admitted to voting with this president more than 90% of the time - and if this is in fact one of the worst presidents of all time - what is anyone thinking voting for McCain? So what does the GOP fall back on? The Economy? Can't do that, it sucks - but of course we'll deny it sucks - the war in Iraq - perhaps the most poorly planning invasion of all time - let's rely on Obama's opposition to the surge to divert attention from the other hundreds of billions of dollars wasted, not to mention American soldiers dying by the thousands - Pro life! Let's tell everyone that Obama is for killing babies - that should scare them up nice and good - lets tell them that Obama wants porno shown to kids - not working? Let's pull a hockey mom, a pro-life, gun-toting hockey mom out of our ass for VP - nevermind the fact that she's not ready for this - she looks good, will say the right things - we can even come up with military experience - National Guard stuff - executive decisions - like appointing your high school friends to positions they aren't qualified for? Let's say she is against earmarks - even though she clearly wasn't - at all -

This link isn't to every spin, but only the most incriminating that Politifact reserves it's Pants On Fire rating for. Notice there are SIX for the McCain campaign. How many for the Obama campaign? ZERO. So either Obama's campaign isn't quite as full of shit as McCains and is running a cleaner more honest race, or the journalists at Politifact that both campaigns regularly cite to are biased towards Obama. You decide.

Quite true, but how many of those editorials will reach the eyes of the truly undecided voters, versus the impact that McCain's allegations and claims will have on public perceptions of Obama?

McCain is throwing mud simply to test Obama...if Obama bites, it distracts from his message...if he ignores, some of this mud might stick to his campaign as it did with Kerry's.

Right now the litmus test is all over the map.

They ran with BS that hadn't verified - THAT isn't journalism, it's doing BHO's dirty work. Senator Obama may have peaked in May. He survived the nomination end game because of the peculiarities of the Democrats' "proportional allotment" rules; he was definitely sliding downward towards the end of the nomination run.

For me that threshold was hit about 6 years ago, I will never vote for either side of the fraud/plutocracy again.
Strangely enough former republican voters are ahead of the curve of this one, as many see the game that has been being played on us for generations. Lets hope a portion of the other side of that equation dumps their false prophets and we can meet in the middle and take our nation back.

My question is: When will the Democrat party field a valid candidate for President? Not since Truman have I seen one. Of course, neither of the major parties are worth a warm bucket of spit on the national level.
. At least the Reps tend to put up people with some executive experience in the private sector so they should at least have some idea of what's wrong on the federal level. That's where McCain fails - Romney would have been much better.
