How many here check their receipts?

You talk as if you're the only person on ATOT who works or has worked in software engineering.

A bug is a bug - a piece of a program that does not work as intended. In a major program it is just as possible to have a bug that credits a customer an extra $5 when certain rare conditions all occur as one that bills the customer an extra $5. As you said, they usually screw things up for the customer, but not necessarily.

So why I have been overbilled and never underbilled? Maybe they fix those bugs first and don't prioritize the bugs that benefit them? Maybe the "mistakes" are not mistakes at all? Who knows? I only know the end result...the error is never in my favor.

As I said before - funny how that works.

Here at Big Y in MA. you can see everyting rung up on a color monitor, i always watch as everythign goes by so i don't have to check my receipt after i leave the store.

I always check my receipts for groceries....everything else is if I feel like it or not.

But regarding your buy 1 get 1 thingy, if it's a big chain supermarket, you can go back and complain and they will refund your money for both probably.

My wife checks them over at the grocery store. When I go shoppingit's usually jsut for a couple things aso I always know what they are supposed to ring up at.
