Which is great, unless your installation is a prick and makes you takes weekend days as leave if you are out of the "local area".

My company:
15 days/year vacation
1 personal day (floating holiday)/year
7 holidays
10 days/year sick time

Vacation time goes to 20 days at 5 years (3 down, 2 to go!), and caps there. It used to go to 20 days at 3 years, and 25 days at 20 years.

A company I used to work for started you @ 10 days/year, but they also gave you the whole week between Christmas & New Years. Then they go bought out by CSC and all the benefits went to hell.

it is a sliding scaled based on how long you have worked here

you start getting 10 days/80 hours per year, it goes up to about 3 weeks after about 5-8 years, then up to 4 weeks after something like 10-15 years. i forget where it maxes out, either 4 or 6 weeks per year.

the funny thing is, a lot of the people that have worked here 20+ years have trouble using all of their vacation each year :Q

my boss has been taking every friday off all summer trying to use his vacation before he loses it

All of you are incredibly fortunate. Enjoy what you have.

I work for a very large corporation, although in one of their smaller facilities.

We get:

11 paid holidays
After one year of service: 2 sick/personal days a year. (These can be saved up)
And for vacation:
< 1 year = None
1-2 years = 1 Week, and must take it for the Fourth of July shutdown.
2 - 5 years = 2 Weeks, one of which must be used for the Fourth.
5 Years - some number I do not forsee seeing = 2.5 Weeks.

And Vacation time can not be saved, or bought. Use or loose.

At my company, we get 10 paid holidays, 5 sick days, 3 personal days, your birthday as a floating holiday and 10 vacation days. After two years, you get 15 vacation days.

I had more time off at my last employer.

I've been here 5 years and get 4 weeks paid +holidays +3 sick days

It's awesome... as long as you aren't on an active project you can take your whole vacation at once

I'll be using 3 weeks concurrently when the baby is born in November :)

Wow ... that really sucks. I'd be dropping them like a bad habit, first chance I got.

Been with the company 5 years. I get 18 vacation days, 7 sick days and 3 personal days. We get all the major holidays off (off today), so I'm pretty content.

1 week first year
2 weeks 2nd-5th year
3 weeks 6th-15th year
4 weeks 16-25th year
5 weeks after that

I currently get 4 weeks, been with the company 9 years, but negotiated an extra week as part of my package. 10 sick days, 5 personal days and about 10-12 paid holidays, that varies depending on when Christmas and New Years fall during the week. Sick days and personal days wrap over if unused. I average about 3 or 4 per year, mostly spring fever days when I blow off work when the weather os good to go play golf. Given my job if my plate is full I just can't call in sick, I'll be in with 2 broken legs. I think I've got nearly 100 unused sick and personal days in the bank. I was thinking of cashing them all in at once and taking 6 months off.

9 paid company holidays
4 paid personal holidays to use whenever
10 paid vacation days
10 emergency/sick days

oh yeah, and I make my own schedule, so 3 day weekends are not uncommon :)
