As a kid they were all metal and I got two 6 months ago (hadn't been in a few years) and the dentist used the nice tooth colored stuff. One earlier filling had kind of fell apart so he spent about 5 hours drilling the crap out of that tooth and re-filling with this white stuff. Said tooth has never looked so good!

My fillings are so old they are the stuff that looks like solder. LOL
