How many bills are auto-debited from your bank account each month?

I have:

Gym Membership
Sirius Sub
Auto Insurance
Xbox live subscription

I generally dont like this option, but some places make it mandatory or give you better rates (Such as Auto)

So if you don't like the option why do you sign up for that type of payment?

So you sell your soul to save a few bucks also? 😉

every single one, if at all possible. Primarily due to being in the Navy and being underway, it became a force of habit to set things up this way.

0, I like to see all of my bills first. However I voted "I'm an gigantic tool" because I am going to point out it should be 'a' gigantic tool, not 'an' gigantic tool.

Auto gives you better rates for paying monthly? Weird.
I get it cheaper by paying in a lump sum at the start of the year.

I have the money for them to take, so if I can save a few bucks, yes.

Cell phone goes to a credit card. Two credit cards, truck payment and rent come out of the checking account automatically. Eliminates the possibility that I'll forget to pay something.. 😱

None.
I move all my money to savings and use credit cards.

The bills that come I pay off with my next paycheck and then move the remainder over to savings.

Me too. Hi5.

None:
a) I don't keep enough in checking to cover bills
b) I like to look over my bills to make sure their right before paying
c) If there is a problem, I still hold the money.

I just have gym membership, though once I have my own house and have bills to pay, I'll want to make them all this way, so it's basically "pay and forget". I'll want to keep a close eye and understand each and every transaction though, so I don't end up having like 10 different monthly transfers and forget what they're all for.

Actually I need to check if my bank has an option to auto pay my visa every month. There is an option to pay a specific amount, but if there's one to pay the whole thing it would be nice, right now I go in at least once a month and pay it off. (server, hosting, etc)

I have every bill I possibly can hit my Credit Cards. The balance on those cards is then paid off automatically from my savings account. Those that will not charge to a CC come directly from my savings account.

The only bill I have to write a check for is my quarterly bill for garbage pickup.

If I died and was decomposing on the carpet in the living room, everything would get paid for years and years. The garbage folks would be pissed, but then, there wouldn't be any garbage put out at the road. Screw 'em. 😀

cable
telephone/internet
gas

I wish I could do sewage and water, but they don't offer it AFAIK. I completely forgot to pay it last month, didn't even have a clue 'till I got the bill.

1. Student loan paid with automatic EFT, since there is a 0.25% interest rebate.

I pay my electric/gas, two CC bills, and cable online with EFT, but I do it manually. It'd be nice to not have to remember to do it (although they are due all around the same time) but I like to look over the bill before paying it.

There's a similar thread rolling around here now. Every bill I have set up to get paid automatically has a system set up through their website to email me when the bill is available. Every one of them. Utilities, cable, satellite, phone, Amex, Visa, etc. The only ones that don't are car payments but of course, they don't vary from month to month.

I just log in and take a look. Actually, I download them, look at them and save them. Not all of them make them available as long as I'd like.
