So I will RMA my Gigabyte MoBo tomorrow and was wondering if anyone knows how long does it usually take to receive the MoBo back?
Oh okay. I am hoping 3 weeks max. It arrived the 22nd of this month (USPS tracking) I just got confirmation they received today. The last time I RMA'd a board to them it took me about a month total to get it back.
Aww man I hope so. It be nice to get it in 2 weeks. The last time I did an RMA with them it only took a week or so.
If they repair your board and return it I don't see why you would have to do anything except put it back together. If I get the same board with same Serial # would I have to install Windows again?
Well if you get a new board with a new hardware id then you might have to use phone activation. I think some of the fellas have been down this road already so you might search the forums for this topic.Okay sounds good.
If they did give me a Refurbished MoBo you think I would have to install Windows then?
Excellent hoping to get mine back soon.Windows 7 won't really care too much unless the CPU serial changes. Those licenses activate to the CPU serial and not the MAC of the NIC.
Also, my co-worker just had a Gigabyte board with a failed RAM slot and his RMA went quickly. Took about 1.5 weeks.
Well Gigabyte confirmed they found no issues with the MoBo and they shipped it out today. However they didn't provide tracking information yet.
I had a Gigabyte z170 repaired which took five weeks. I had to make many phone calls to inquire what the holdup was. The service was terrible -- they always said they would call or email me their progress which they never did. I finally gave up and purchased an Asus board. After 5weeks the Gigabyte board arrived with no explanation as to what was wrong. The board looks rebuilt so I don't trust it and will sell it on eBay "as is."So I will RMA my Gigabyte MoBo tomorrow and was wondering if anyone knows how long does it usually take to receive the MoBo back?
Well yes of course. But I couldn't see the serial on MoBo only on box. So what if they send a different MoBo with same Box? I looked all over the MoBo but couldn't see a serial on it.Check the serial numbers to see if the replacement matches the one you sent.
Thank you very much! That's perfect. This should help you out.
