So I will RMA my Gigabyte MoBo tomorrow and was wondering if anyone knows how long does it usually take to receive the MoBo back?

The last time I RMA'd a board to them it took me about a month total to get it back.

Oh okay. I am hoping 3 weeks max. It arrived the 22nd of this month (USPS tracking) I just got confirmation they received today.

Did they give youvthe same MoBo back or you get a Refurbished one?

Had to edit. On phone sorry.

Okay sounds good.
If they did give me a Refurbished MoBo you think I would have to install Windows then?

Well if you get a new board with a new hardware id then you might have to use phone activation. I think some of the fellas have been down this road already so you might search the forums for this topic.

Windows 7 won't really care too much unless the CPU serial changes. Those licenses activate to the CPU serial and not the MAC of the NIC.

Also, my co-worker just had a Gigabyte board with a failed RAM slot and his RMA went quickly. Took about 1.5 weeks.

Well Gigabyte confirmed they found no issues with the MoBo and they shipped it out today. However they didn't provide tracking information yet.

I had a Gigabyte z170 repaired which took five weeks. I had to make many phone calls to inquire what the holdup was. The service was terrible -- they always said they would call or email me their progress which they never did. I finally gave up and purchased an Asus board. After 5weeks the Gigabyte board arrived with no explanation as to what was wrong. The board looks rebuilt so I don't trust it and will sell it on eBay "as is."

I am so glad you had better luck with Gigabyte. I know they used to be a good company but after my experience and several other comments I have seen I will never purchase another Gigabyte product.

I had to RMA my MoBo back to Gigabyte again last week. I asked them not to send the same MoBo back for them to send a replacement.

Is there any way of telling if its same MoBo or a different one when they send it back?

Check the serial numbers to see if the replacement matches the one you sent.
Well yes of course. But I couldn't see the serial on MoBo only on box. So what if they send a different MoBo with same Box? I looked all over the MoBo but couldn't see a serial on it.

Sorry for not clarifying on my last post.

Update number 2
Well took 1 week again. Got there Friday last week they shipped it Thursday (yesterday) I insisted on letter not to send me the same one. I really hope they didn't. Will see next Thursday when it gets here.

First RMA in March they said there is nothing wrong with the motherboard so they sent it back. I was having the same problem I was having before so I asked them to send me a different one for replacement we'll see what happens
