how long should it take to replace a rubber 'leg' from the bottom of your laptop?

You know how your laptop probably has four rubber legs to keep it from moving around on your desk? Well, one of mine fell off.

I called Compaq over a month ago and asked them to send me another one, the laptop was still under warranty and it was (so I thought) a simple fix. Obviously this would be too simple, so Compaq told me the only way I could get this repaired if I were to ship my laptop to them.

They sent me a prepaid box with an overnight label and I sent it in a month ago. I've called up a couple of times, and customer service never had an answer as to why it's taking so long to stick a self-adhesive rubber leg on my laptop.

Sigh. Just filed a complaint with corporate, but seriously wtf?

Do you still have the rubber leg? Depending on how big it is, some double sided tape or glue (that is safe for plastics) should do the trick.

Depending on the shipping method, 1 week to get it there, 1-2 weeks for it to get through the paperwork and to the shop. Assuming that they had a foot, it should get to RMA paperwork the next day and shipped out within 1-2 days after that.

IF they do not have a foot, then you need to get a foot ordered, wait for arrival and the put the laptop back in the repair queue.
