It really depends on which part of the day I am working. The To-Work/To-Home:
Its about 36-miles one-way commute.
Morning Shift: 55-minutes/75-90 minutes
Evening Shift: 40-minutes/35-minutes
Night Shift: 35-minutes/45-60 minutes.
This is assumine no Atlanta traffic suprises, GDOT construction, etc.
BTW, the actual commute is only part of the picture. If I worked the morning shift I would leave at 6AM to get there just before 7AM, but if I leave at 6:30AM I'd be lucky to make it to work by 8AM. The only way I could get the morning To-Work commute down to below 45-minutes would be to leave at 5AM for an 8AM work shift. That's BS.
Also, if I cut the distance in half and spend the same amount on a home I'd go from 2600 SqFt home to about 1400-1500 SqFt., and that would drop to about <1000 SqFt to reduce it to one-quarter of the commuted distance. A friend travels 50% further than I do, has a 2200 SqFt house that he paid about 40% less than I did.
