How long has it been since you have unlocked your car with a key?

I was thinking today after replacing the batteries in my little door clicker for my truck.

I seriously think its been 12+ years since I used a key to unlock the car door. After the battery went out, I still didnt use the key, easier to use the keypad on the door. ;)

About 8 hours ago. I've yet to install the keyless entry. I plan to though.

Bingo. My car is too old to have keyless (16 years old).

Been awhile.. at least a year. If i use the key, i'm clumsy and will eventually start scratching the area.

Been awhile. Either remote entry with the little keychain thing, or I punch the code in the buttons below the handle.

Last year when I locked the door with the engine still running. I had to use the spare "emergency key"

You know how much hassle it would be to rig up a whole power lock system on a car that has manual locks? Besides, it's a coupe. There are only two doors to worry about. Simple. :)

forever...

my WRX's security system requires the use of the wireless remote to unlock it..if you use the key, the alarm goes off :D so, i've never opened a car door on my WRX with the key, it's only used for the trunk/glovebox/ignition/in case if the remote dies/gets lost, you can open the door, alarm goes off, then go from off to 3 (right before ignition), on the ignition thing where the key goes in, 3 times and it'll stop the alarm.

A long time. If I unlock the door with the key it sets the alarm off, best if I just unlock the doors with the keyfob.

Its not hard to use a key, just easier to use the keyless entry. When you walk up to your car its unlocked and ready to roll.

Plus, as bad guys chase you through dark parking garages, there is none of that fumbling with the keys while they get closer and closer. ;)

Hence you pay a shop to do it. I had it done on my 91 Accord sedan, complete w/ the stock power door lock switches. Obviously the wiring isn't done to look like its stock.
