How long has it been since you have unlocked your car with a key?

About a week.

Then again, I don't drive my car (can't afford insurance). I just start it up every now and again, and maybe around the block when no one is around.

And it doesn't come with a "door clicker," it being a 1956 Ford Fairlane and all (which only has 55,000 miles on the origional engine by the way ).

You are correct, sir.

Those keypads are the greatest invention since rolled up condoms. Half the time I just lock my keys in my car (not in the ignition, I do drop them in the console) so I wont have to carry them in my pocket, and just use the keypad.

wow... i can't believe so many don't use their keys! I'll be okay though guys... it's not that bad when i have to kick my door because the locks freeze shut.

Yeah, my Dad told me keyless entry was a pretty freekin' rare option on the '56 Fairlanes. Sounds like a cool car to take a cruise in though.

On a side note - How hard is it to get keyless installed if you have power windows and manual locks?

about 6 years for me. Once I tried keyless entry on my first car, I could never go back to using the key again

A few hours... I can't stand carrying around a keyless entry fob. Fours keys is all I carry... car, house, garage. Yeah, the keyless entry unit is small but I still hate it... I leave it inside my house.

15 minutes. And with my car, unlocking it is a 5 minute ordeal that involves lots of key stickage, grunting, swearing and pounding on the door. Putting a remote thingy is stupid with my 87 Bonnie

It is a very cool car. I love it. It is unfortunate I have to be a poor college student so can't drive it. I am hoping to save enough money over this next summer though so I can afford to do so.

Its never too old. Its just too old to have it stock

You know how much hassle it would be to rig up a whole power lock system on a car that has manual locks? Besides, it's a coupe. There are only two doors to worry about. Simple.

Hence you pay a shop to do it. I had it done on my 91 Accord sedan, complete w/ the stock power door lock switches. Obviously the wiring isn't done to look like its stock.

Power locks were a rare option on my car, and the OE actuators and switches are almost impossible to find today unless you rummage through a whole bunch of salvage yards.

The locks on my truck ('92 Mazda B2200) are the kind that you just pull the knob up (on the inside), where all you need to do is shove a coat hanger down the side of the glass to unlock it.

Is there anyway to add better locking to my truck? Like REAL locks, that I can also add power locks and keyless entry?
