How long does it take to format a 250Gb HD?

I guess it depends what type of format? partition magic boom 30 seconds on less.

low level format oohhh couple of hours.

About a minute. IIRC, Partition Magic formats a blank HDD to NTFS in a matter of seconds.

My dad did a 200GB about a week ago and he said it took him about 45 minutes. I'd expect somewhere from 50 minutes to an hour for a 250GB.

takes even a decent amount of time to format an 80 fully... 20 mins or so

er..... I'm just curious since I have not done a full normal format for the past 5 years but man this SUCKS!!!!!!!.
