How long does a bar of soap last with normal usage

Probably a month.

I think I'm the only one using it. The wife has 100 assorted bottles of stuff between the shower, in baskets around the the tub, on her vanity, under her vanity, and in the drawers of the vanity, I'm sure one of them is soap. 😕
 
It depends on the soap. Ivory floats. They tell you it's because it's so pure, but we all know it has more air whipped into it ;^)

I've been using a lot of custom soaps lately, so it's hard to tell, but my old mainstay Pears lasted about a month if memory serves.
 
For a lot of people, a lot longer than its supposed to. You are supposed to wash your hands throughout the day and preferably shower at least twice. Most people however are care free, germ laden and smelly. 🙁

Who showers twice per day? That just wastes water. An argument can be made that once per day is too much. Your skin produces more oil the more it's washed. If you chill out on the showers and shampoos for a bit, oil production goes down. I've never waited it out. I shower evry day in the summer, and every other day in the winter.

Does the first shower not count since you get dirty during it when your so joins you in there?

Honestly, I only shower in the morning for about 5 mins to either wake up or if I might have sweat the previous night. But if you dont shower at least once per day I dont see how you could live with yourself, honesty.

To each his own I suppose.
 
The topic of bodywash vs. soap intrigues me. I would venture that bodywash is more expensive than soap, but if evidence is produced to the contrary I may switch over.

Never did the math. Body wash is such a small, small, small portion of my monthly expenses that I don't even notice.

Big ass bottle lasts me like 3 months.

I had a thre pack of Dial bars and used them all up in a month. They seem to disintegrate even when I dont use them.

A bottle of Dial body wash costs the same (at the grocery store) and so far is only half empty after three months.

Just dont use HUUGGEE globs on your scrub brush and you'll be fine.
 
It will depend on a few things:

1) How much soap you use
2) What soap you use
3) What size Bar you use

Soaping up a Face Cloth and using just that will probably use the least amount of Soap. Rubbing the Bar on yourself will probably use the most.

Different Soaps are made differently(whoah!). Some will dissolve quicker than others or require more Soap to Clean.

A big Bar will last a lot longer than a smaller Bar(Whoah! again!). Recently bought some Zest without looking too closely at it. Freakin medium sized bars last 9/10 Showers, WTF.

Advice: Buy large Bars, try different Brands to find one you prefer.
