How long do you think I can go without doing anything before getting fired?

If you just walk out how are they going to stop you?

I think the idea is that he doesn't want to do that although he wouldn't care if he did. He wants to push the envelope as far as he can just to see where it leads him. I support this experiment.

Do it for science! 😀

How awesome will it be (for everyone except the OP) if they press charges of some sort?

LOL - do you honestly believe that could happen? If so, please don't breed. Thanks.

Not...permitted...to quit? Did she just give you a license to keep getting paid without doing anything? Wish I had that option at my job.

Wait wait... are you a contracted employee? As in did you specifically sign something saying you will work with a specific tenure? Or did you sign the usual "At-Will" agreement that most companies have?

If it's the latter, HAHAHAHA! I like your company... they just gave you carte blanche to jerk off and collect a paycheck every time you pass go. 🙂 (If it's the former, you're screwed)

You can't quit until you... "Yes mommy..."

Not permitted to quit until the report is done to their satisfaction?
I would literally not do a damn thing all day long then. Let the idiots pay you to come in the office and sleep.
What a bunch of fools. Do they honestly think that you are going to do any work?

*Update April 29, 2008*

Assuming the edits I submitted go through, my last day should be friday (in which case, wednesday, thursday and friday I will also have done nothing)

Then your new goal should be to see how long after you quit that you can keep coming to work and getting paid... but still doing nothing.

My boss came into the city on monday, but didn't speak to me (busy I guess).

On tuesday she talked with me for about 2 minutes just asking me about the cases I had to work on. She flew out to another city this morning.

She didn't seem concerned or upset at all 🙂
