I wonder how many of you would be cheering this guy on if you were paying his salary?
Am I missing something here? What makes this the least bit entertaining? Would you all get a big charge out of someone committing insurance fraud or embezzling from their employer? Is it the complete lack of personal pride or any sort of ethics that make it so thrilling? Or is it the passive aggressive aspect that rings your bell? I really don't get it, and I really am trying to understand what makes this so much fun.

If a company handles their employees in such a way that they cannot tell if someone has done 0 work in 2 weeks then I have no sympathy for them.

It's fun exactly like office space is hilarious.

I don't get it either. Especially considering the top sticky thread.

Office Space is funny for 2 reasons. The first is because it deals with everyday common scenarios in the work force that most people will come across. The second is because it deals with a guy getting back at a company that otherwise treats all of it's employees like shit in the most passively aggressive ways possible. The OP is not in this scenario, he is actually in quite the opposite scenario, the company is treating him amazing, paying him for full weeks as long as he manages to pull off 6 hours of work.

And just because the company hasn't fired him doesn't mean they don't know he hasn't done 0 work. Companies these days walk on eggshells when it comes to firing people. They realize he hasn't done what he is supposed to, but the guy above him probably isn't really management material, so it is going to take some time before anyone has the courage to really do anything about it. They will want to feel they have sufficient proof before any sort of confrontation occurs. They are also giving the worker the benefit of the doubt, god forbid.

But you see, the OP has no idea what he is DOING, should he just resign?

If he does he gets no benefits and becomes homeless.

If they fire him he'll have some pay while he looks for a job from unemployment.

Why not just use all this time not doing any work to search for new jobs?

He's trying to get fired so that he can be a leach on society and collect unemployment. If he simply quit, he wouldn't be able to.

I haven't been here long enough to collect unemployment. If (when) I get fired, I'm SOL.

Actually, I think I need to be laid off to collect unemployment.

Hopefully you'll have your own business at some point and if you do, you'd probably appreciate people quitting if they don't want to do their work, instead of just leaching money from you and your business that you've worked so hard for.

I hope that if I ever have my own business, I'll have enough sense to keep better track of what's going on.

That said, I'm pretty much a horrible human being by doing this. I'm actually just thinking of telling my boss how I feel and quitting at the end of the week.

No argument there. Why you are taking some kind of sick pride in this is beyond me. You are burning bridges with this company, and everybody at that company who works with you. Anybody there who hears your name in the future will probably make damn sure you never get hired for any company they are currently working for, and you'll be surprised how profound that can be.

And you say you'll keep better track of whats going on if you own your own business? When you own a company, you want, and pay for people who dont need to be micromanaged like a fucking child to make sure they are doing what they are supposed to do. You are violating a trust that company holds in you, and pays you for, and I hope they spread the word so far you'll have to move across state lines to escape the repulation you are rightfully earning.

He's living out his office space dream. Can't hate him for that. I am, in fact, quite envious.

You would be a god if you could devise a way to embezzle fractions of a cent from each transaction that's processed...

Or if you steal a printer.

yes, he's horrible for doing this.

but this is entertaining the rest of us. i won't begrudge him any morality points for that.

^^ QFT. Keep those updates coming!

The penny does not come from 7/11's till. This still looks like theft to me.

I've done nothing for 10 years :)

Seriously though, you sound like a douche. If you don't like the job, quit. You're hurting those people's business by screwing around like that.

sure. i make fun of someone if they fall on a patch of ice (after i make sure they arent hurt), i laugh at soemone wearing dragon shirts etc.

But that is a huge diffrence then what BigTogue is doing. he is screwing over the people waiting for the report (wich effects there job), he is screwing over his employer etc.

i just hope this comes back to get him someday. Karma is a bitch..
