How long did it take...

I've been in college so long that they offered me a salaried job as a network sys admin. I don't get my degree until December and it's not even in computer science...it's in business. Messed up world if you ask me. 😉

2 days. No connections.
They were looking for a guy who could stay a year or so until military service. I got it.
They were so happy I just showed up after the military service and got hired on the spot.
😀

That was my stepping stone.

Negative time. Been with the same company throughout college, signed contract before I graduated.
I was going to say -6 months, but your answer will suffice. I interned here and then signed after the summer with one more year of college left.

Senior year I had an internship with the company, once internship was up they hired me full time.

I got the internship because I worked at an on campus computer lab with the girl who had the internship before me.

I had a job as soon as I graduated. It was at the same company where I worked for 2 summers, but with a nice pay raise, more responsibilities, and a different set of duties.

I got my first real job about 6 months later... I got tired of all the politics and fighting within the department; before quitting, I applied for a promotion that would have put me in a different department, but my then-boss sabotoged my promotion. a day being told that I didn't get the promotion, I got hooked up with a friend of a friend who's a Data Center manager, who offered me a job within the week. I gave them 2 days notice and walked out without training anyone how to do my job or telling anyone all the passwords I set on the customer databases.

I found out that they were paying my replacement double what I was making, so I figured "fvck it. if it's worth so much money, he shouldn't need to be trained."

greatest. day. ever.

since then, my boss and half of my department have been laid off. 🙂

i am interning now, so hopefull this will turn into something. I am still gonna go on a job search, in an attempt to get myself into Lockheed/Gruman/Boeing 😀

Got my degree at the end of August of last year, started looking the week after graduation..... landed the job in mid september, and began work in mid october.

So 1 month til I got an offer letter. 3 months til that first paycheck

Although I had numerous jobs whilst in school...
