How long before open-ocean freejacking ships becomes a thing?

things have changed here a lot. it's disappointing; but sometimes being goofy is fun. as for sea piracy, it's been a thing for a long time. still is a thing in modern times. some caries have weapons lockers on board for protection in areas that has a piracy issue. I'm not too sure they're looking at stealing all or even a lot of cargo. I think i read they tend to rob the crew and/or hold them hostage for ransom.

This has historically been an interesting place that produced insightful comments, but I'm not getting that vibe anymore. It's fine if that's how the culture has adapted over the last few years, but it's still surprising to me. I haven't browsed the forums in 18 months or so and things have changed quite a bit since then. I think I'll go back into hiding.

There does seem to be a little of the 1177 BC effect propagating through most of the internet and society in general.
