So, I was reading the following article and it made me wonder how long it would be before the first successful hijacking of a cargo vessel on the open ocean takes place? Should we expect any open-ocean hijacking operators to be countered by armed autonomous robots, too?
Okay, we have a captain for our crew. I'll be lookout. Do we have anyone that knows how to drive a ship? Knows port from starburst?Look at me.

What would a bunch of tech nerds have to offer in the way of insights into ocean piracy?I haven't been to this forum in quite some time and I'm a little dismayed to see what it has become. I clicked this link thinking there would be an actual discussion.
This has historically been an interesting place that produced insightful comments, but I'm not getting that vibe anymore. It's fine if that's how the culture has adapted over the last few years, but it's still surprising to me. I haven't browsed the forums in 18 months or so and things have changed quite a bit since then. I think I'll go back into hiding. What would a bunch of tech nerds have to offer in the way of insights into ocean piracy?
