What's a safe operating temperature for a receiver? Thanks for taking the temp reading. I'll probably stay away from that receiver, because I don't have a ton of space for breathing room around a receiver that big.
I haven't updated the OP, but all the audio upgrades are going to have to wait a while

. I was debating between getting a new receiver or a new computer monitor, and the computer monitor won. I upgraded from a 20" non-widescreen to a 24" widescreen (Dell 2408WFP), and the difference is astounding. I wasn't overly pleased with the upgrade I would get from a $400 receiver, especially with keeping my same speakers. I'm not sure when I'll do my audio upgrade, but it's definitely going to be a while, and I want it to be a very substantial upgrade.
