I have a friend who has seriously gotten out of hand with doing illegal sh!t. A lot of my friends joke he's going to own a pawn shop later in life because he is constantly buying and selling sh!t (his family is rich--he drives an Infinity--so he buys a lot of computer parts).
He will use something for a few weeks, sell it, and buy something new. The kid is a freak.
A few summers ago he bought a modded Xbox with 13 burned games of Ebay. Since then, he has gotten a new mod chip (with a switch, so he can play on live), and has maybe 40+ burned games (none of which he has the original of). Also, he has burned many copies of Windows XP and Office and has given them (or sold them) to kids at our school with working CD keys.
He also burns DVDs and sells them to kids at our school
He recently bought a nice $500 digital camera, and was talking to me today. He dropped it and the battery case is fcuked. He said as soon as newegg starts selling them, he's going to buy one, then immediately file for an RMA, but RMA his old one so he can have two new ones (and probably sell one on Ebay).
The kid seriously needs to stop. This habit will definitely stay with him when he goes to college, and later in life it could get much worse.
How illegal is all this stuff he is doing? He's a pretty good friend, so I don't want to see anything bad happen to him, but this is getting way outta hand.
