Umm...you do know that some corner garage would patch that for about $6, don't you?

it was labor day.

and a $6 patch probably might happen in detroit.

Seriously, to remove the wheel, then tire, then patch it then remount it all for $6 today?
It was 7$ at my local place, but yeah.

It only takes like 10 minutes, and the only cost to them is the patch, some marker paint, and some electricity... lol.

damn you guys live in ghettos...10 mins is kick ass with a low profile tire and no damage to the wheels...do these guys work out the back of their trailers?

You drove 50 miles on this tire, and it didn't lose air by the time you got home? 😕

yup. i did notice the rear of the car was shimmying on turns as i got closer to home.
leaks can occur very slowly.

What model tire is it? When was it made? I'm betting that since it has 32k on it, that is was past it's life expectancy, and even if you took them to court, the most you would have to gain is $25.

Sorry, but you have to write this off as one of life's lessons.

It's gotta be a hella cheap-ass tire to be "past its life expectancy" with only 32K miles. Must be a MayPop brand.

That's the case with most oem tires these days. That's why I asked for the model & age of the tire. More info is needed, but the fact that the sidewall cracked is a huge clue.

I've worked at both a tire/oil shop and a fridge/freezer factory, and lemme mention both of the places were shit. Although, if I had billed someone for a patch and never did it, I would have been fired immediately. You have to fill the tire then spin it in a tub of soapy water, find all of the leaks then take it off and patch the holes. Looks like they got lazy and just filled it up with either air (they must've been very lazy) or the fix-a-flat junk (unlikely as it actually can work). Do as other posters suggested and bitch to their district manager, he'll fix it mighty fast and likely can the lazy-ass who 'fixed' the tire.

And for the peeps with busted fridges, stay the hell away from anything Sears brand. I used to make those fuckers, the workmanship is....ok....but the parts they have in em are total garbage. Hot-melt was a normal 'fix' on most leaky things, plus the compressors are clunky, loud, and poorly welded, not to mention the same as every other energy sucking pos you get on sale. Kenmore, Maytag, Woods, Danby, etc.. all made (at least now) in Mexico, by workers who don't give a shit.

Anyways, good luck getting it sorted out OP.

Many tire stores sell teasers that are 25-35K milage tires.

For older cars that are not driven much that is 2-3 years which may be the expected ownership of the car.

Why do you expect them to go out of their way after the warranty? Honestly we're pretty good about being lenient but there's only so much we can do. Buying the protection agreement for any appliance is a smart idea.

Wow, I didn't realize that the employees really believed what they were being told to push. You will NOT find any credible, neutral authority who agrees with that. They're simply another way for stores to make an even bigger profit. That's why their employees are forced to really push the protection agreements.

glad they made it up to you and that you didn't have to spend too much time on it.

thanks.
i honestly wasn't expecting much so i was pleasantly surprised.

If the tire was originally from Sears, then they did right by you.

If it was not a Sears tire; then they went over and beyond - kudo's to them

Yep...MayPops.

My cheap tires are Goodyear F1 Asymmetric.

tire was not originally from sears, but i don't think that matters.

if i wanted to make more noise, i think i could.
think about it, they flat out lied about patching my tire when all they did was fill it up with air and charge me $25.
if i had blown out on the highway and got into a big accident, it would be a lot worse than a free tire.
