You really need to learn to use those spoiler tags. :colbert:

Also,
it didn't react because she kissed him; it reacted because he sacrificed himself. He acted in a selfless manner knowing the only way he could save everyone was to let the Destroyer kill him.

Personally, my least favorite parts about the film were
his transition from being arrogant to umm... not arrogant, and the poorly done love aspect.

I understand why the hammer reacted. But the whole scene was so poorly laid out, I almost barfed. It was like a campy 80s film scene

everyone is using this as an excuse.

i argue that movies like the Batman Return, The Dark Knight, Spiderman 1, Spiderman 2, Watchmen are all examples of comic book movies which had good acting, super script, plenty of action, healthy dose of humor, intensity, all while keeping pretty close to the actual comic book.

Thor failed on all fronts. Even worse, it had a super cast. Heck, I would rate it in the cheesiness and cliche factor of Batman and Robin.

This is Thor: "Let me stand up to the Destroyer. After he hits me really hard (which should have killed a mortal), Jane will come kiss me and then Mjolnir will see I am worthy. The hammer will fly up into the sky, there will be a stupendous amount of circling winds, and then I will wake up with full body armor"

So you're expecting it to be something more than it is.

Yeah...because comic books follow all the rules of physics and are all totally possible and all that.

No, a comic book movie has comic book physics, not physics from Chronicles of Narnia.

Pretty spot on. I hated that too.

I hated the fight scene between loki and thor. It was so dam fake and contrived. The only thing that was semi-humorous was the hammer on the chest. The fight against the ice giants seemed cheesetastic as well. Special effects on the frozen wasteland were good though.

Spiderman 2 > Spiderman 1.

:colbert:

A lot of the complaints that I see about Spider-Man 2 is mostly that Doc Ock wasn't really much of a villain, which is correct. The main antagonist in Spider-Man 2 was actually Peter and all of that brooding self-doubt.

Although, I might be part of the minority, because I didn't hate Spider-Man 3. :p

This is what I liked about SM2. Raimi did an excellent job of showing it on screen... and not falling into the trap of traditional superhero stereotype. If I had a say in that movie.. I would not have let Dunst scream all the time.. it was fucking annoying.

To each his own I guess. I thought the whole Spiderman trilogy sucked major balls. I went to watch all tree expecting the next one will get better than last one, but disappointment gets bigger each time. I am glad they are remaking Spiderman. Hopefully, they will get it right this time around.

That's my least favorite part about the first (Michael Keaton) Batman movie as well. All what's-her-face does is scream... the whole time.

Blasphemy! Stan the Man Lee said his favorite Marvel movies had to be Spidey 1 or X-Men 1!

I should care what Stan Lee's favorite movie is because? Like I said, to each his own. Toby McGuire and Kirsten Dunst just killed it for me.

Wait wait wait, someone on ATOT doesn't like a movie that was generally well liked by the public and comic book fans?

I'm shocked, shocked I say.

Better than most comic book movies. It was simple, told a story, got it done, no fucking around, +natalie portman.

^^ This.

Thor was fairly good if you're not expecting a complex, thought-provoking film. Decent action, decent humor, and Natalie is pretty easy on the eyes.

I think a sequel could be better.
