I think the best I've done was around 8 minutes, though I don't exercise a lot. I am currently a freshman in high school.

Every now and then I get in the mood to do a little running on the treadmill we have and I was just curious to see how out of shape my a$$ is. Took me about 12 and 1/2 minutes tonight. Haven't been on the thing in a while though. Pretty crappy I'm guessing, but just wanted to see what you health nuts average.

best i ever did was 6:08, but that was after runnin 2 miles everyday for a month...

Treadmill is for women. Real man run on rubberized oval tracks outside. I logged 4:57 back in high school. 1 mile = 4 ovals.

my best time was 5:29 during high school track. It's not a good time, never won me anything 🙁

I can probably do like 6+ now (uh....maybe - that plus is in there for a reason)

I usta do 6:45 - 7 Minute miles.... No idea anymore. I just started going to the gym I'll have to check it out.

mile: 5:58 (just last week after a long hiatus from speedwork)
5k: 21:01
5 miles: 36:28
10 miles: 1:22:18
26.2 miles: 3:59:40

How fast does the mile time drop with speedwork? Please consider the fact that I am more of a distance runner. Can I improve my speed dramatically while doing the weekend longruns (~14-20 miles)?

THanks a lot.

Best time ever was 5 minutes and 3x seconds. I was happy with that time considering I was sprinter. 11 seconds in the 100m though 🙂

Too bad I started smoking and fudged it all up, the stupid thing was I knew recruiters were at some of the events too, yet I still started smoking after that season....had I never started I probably wouldn't be sitting here posting this right now. So stupid.

About 7.5 min, but that was going for 1.5 miles, so probably a little faster if I was just going a mile. 2 of my friends have run 3 miles in under 15 minutes. :Q
