the power supply you have now should do fine. The 9600pro doesn't draw that much power.

That is an utter lie about the Sapphire cards. Their cards are no different than any other ATI cards. In fact, they make the ATI branded cards as well. THey are cheaper because they don't advertise as much, have the same warranty, and are OEM rather than retail.

Ok then, Sapphire it is! But as for the power supply, mine is a generic 300 watt one I'm using with my Athlon 600. Are you sure that will power a new rig?

Yeap a 300watt should do it. The 9600pro isnt as power hungry as the 9500/9700/9800 varients. Though if you were to have more hard drives/optical drives, you might want to upgrade to a better PSU like Antec or Enermax or Fortron, they aren't that expensive. Their 350 watt PSU should be more than adequate(sp?) for you IF you had extra hds/optical drives...

I have 2 hd's but only 1 cd-rom in mind....I'm surprised my 300 watt pos can handle the load...woo!
