maybe just go softcore, not hardcore lol
first things first, temperatures and your heatsink
if you are using retail(bought the cpu retail, using the heatsink+fan that comes with it).....unless you are in a cold room, i would get something much better
use motherboard monitor 5 to give an idea of where your temps are at
after that run prime95 torture test for ~30min or so to get your max load temp
if its too high (higher than 60C i advise you not to touch the vcore at all, just increase fsb until you cant anymore, then thats it)
if its under control, then raise the fsb up a couple at a time (there will come a time when it wotn post, try restarting and if it doesnt, clear cmos **make sure you know how to do this before attempting anything lol)
then bump the vcore up
keep going, while testing with prime95 for stability
once you reach max, raise Vdimm if you can and try fsb again
if it doesnt do anything, thats it the overclockers game is over
