Your parents gave you that money hence they can make you give it back even and they did not have to pay you to help around the house.

Your boss gave you that money hence they can make you give it back even and they did not have to pay you to work.

worng once paid its for keeps in real world even if you are fired. Basicly right now you own nothing it all belongs to your parents.

Well that's how it works in my household.

Basically legally your parents could take everything away from you other then clothes and food and there would be no legal recourse for you to take.

You're replacing a computer than is better than 95% of the population's with one that can be considered, at best, a decent, yet not spectacular, upgrade. This is just a sign of poor money management/overall stupidity.

Additionally, you're not even paying for this yourself. You are wasting your parents' money to gain very little. Also, just because your parents make a good amount of money doesn't mean you are entitled to waste it. Where did that idea possibly come from? Say it outloud to yourself, so you might hear how stupid it sounds. Also, you say you're paying for part of it yourself. Think back...have you ever worked a minute in your life? If not, then the money that you are using is not actually "yours." You have most likely gotten it indirectly from your parents (as in the picture you eBayed.)

On top of all that, your obsession with your future Escalade is just more of a sign of complete and utter spoiling. You most likely have no idea how much your dad had to do to buy that Escalade now. It's just another gift you think you "deserve" in your upper middle class suburban life. I hope, later on when you are out in the real world, you are unable to reach your parents at a time when you really need money, and then you come to the realization that you simply don't know how to make any for yourself, so you break down in the street and cry. Kids like you piss me off.

Just my 2 cents.

But on another notion, what happens if I make it big and they will need my money. I WILL CERTAINLY GIVE IT TO THEM NO MATTER MY FINACIAL STATUS.

Yes, but most likely they would need it for things like food, housing and medicine. You know, neccesities. Not toys.

But when your a parent, your suppose to provide your children with toys. Unless you are barley making by with food and shelter. But seriously do you think I would be bitching like this if I knew my familey was in finacial trouble. My dad puts everything's he got in his savings account so he knows he will not be in trouble when we get older.

Plus my bro is halfway on the road of getting a full scholarship for either baseball or Acadimec Achievments.

Listen, I think you are getting things mixed up. Doing chores around the house isn't making money, that is doing chores at the house. Most parents don't give money to their kids for doing chores, but in your case your parents have a lot of money and so they don't value it as much and give it away to their children for what ever reason.

When I lived with my parents I did chores, I mowed our lawn(we had a big one that took about an hour), cleaned up around the house(vacuumed, dusted, cleaned out fridge, did dishes, did laundry). What do you think my parents gave me? Money? A new computer? No, I got to go to high school, I got to wear decent clothes, and I got a little work ethic out of the deal.

Now things are different, I work for a corporation, I am in college(2 semesters left), I am paying over 1000 a month on rent, car payment, bills, groceries, etc, and am trying to scrounge up money to get a new computer in a few months.

So please realize that what you do at home is different than the real world.

So really, none of it you actually earned yourself. Correct?

It's a 2005 model and it will be MINE ONLY. guys I really don't want you to think I'm a spoiles little bitch becasue I'm not. I just think I deserved it since I have been saving up since febuary and yet she's only paying $300 (i payd the rest) and won't let me put my $1200 computer together.

Say you bought $900 worth of computer parts and all you had left was to buy a new CPU. The CPU is in your house and yet your mom won't let you put it together until 24 days. How would you feel.

Also my dad has worked VERY hard for his money. We as a familey deserve it.

Yes, you are spoiled. Please don't say otherwise.

You think deserve a new computer because your dad worked hard for his money? Yeah, that's logical.

Ok, he is my dad, he made the choice of having me. What you are saying is with all the hardwork I do around the house I don't deserve ANY money at all?
The hard work you do around the house? At the age of 13 while fighting with family members over being able to have the lowly Dell 2.66 all by yourself in the house? Your hard work. Yeahhhhh right.

You should feel lucky. I'm 16 right now. When I got an allowance (which was only a few years of my life) it was $1/week, and I had to constantly pester my parents for that one dollar. I bought my first computer at 14 with birthday/bar mitzvah money; it cost a grand total of $400. That was all I could afford, and I was lucky to have that much money. My second computer I bought after working 3 months a local business that I absolutely hated (the guy who ran the place was a complete stuck up jerk) for minimum wage.

Essentially, you really should realize that most people do NOT have parents that are willing to give them big allowances, or buy them expensive computers, or buy them a car. And even fewer people have parents who are willing to do all three.

On the other hand, I can sympathize with you to a certain extent, mainly because most stores have 30 day return policies, and it wouldn't be good to get your computer and then have only a few of those 30 days left to test it and make sure everything is working properly. It'd especially suck if something died a week or two in and you couldn't return it.

I didn't have my own computer til I was 19 or so. I paid for all $2500 of it myself, no help from the 'rents. I can honestly say I never whined like opteron boy here

I think we need a maturity test to gain registration... oh wait, that'd kill half this board wouldn't it ;) grow up man, be happy you aren't using god forbid.. a P3... hahaha... oh man.. i really hope this is just a joke

Whats wrong with a P3? I had a PII 450MHZ system, 384 ram, ATI Rage 128pro until last year when I built my current rig because the 440BX chipset does not natively support drives over 120GB and I needed to help fix my sister's computer which was 250GB which as well doesn't support drives over 120GB natively (850 chipset). And that was my main rig! Sure I had a P4 1.7 with a R9800pro, but I only got the 9800pro in 2003 and that rig in late 2002 and even then, despite being a full 1250mhz faster, I still used that PII system as my main system.

It is not a joke and I actally have a Pentium 2 433MHz that I have to use when someone kicks me off this Dell.

No such thing as a 433, there is however a 333mhz PII....

I doubt he knew anything about overclocking back when that was new and most OEM boards won't allow for overclocking.
