How does this Mini look?

Tinkering around with the build options, and came up with this:

What do you think? Too boring? I'm not all that happy with the black roof, but I cannot get matching colors without adding another $2K in packages. I'm already $31K with the options I want.

Looks nice but I can't believe new mini's go for 31k. I saw plenty of 2011+ S models for under 20k when I was looking for a used one.

I like the white roof better on that one.

Well, with base stuff the S is just under $24K. This is with entertainment package + nav + moonroof + rims + $1K blue color 🙄 , and some other stuff. It adds up quick. Maybe I should just look at used ones so I have no options to add...

I had a Mazda 3 before, want something different. I will admit I am prejudice against Korean cars...just don't trust them. BRZ is too sporty...I like the idea of a hatch so I can drop the rear seats and haul stuff. MPG not that good. No issue with Ford Focus ST, but its not out now and not priced yet. I guess I like the looks of the Mini, and its supposed to be a fun to drive car, and fairly capable in most conditions.

Mazdaspeed3 is a completely different animal than the regular MZ3. You should at least give it a test drive if you haven't already.

Hatch - rear seats - roomy - sporty -

VW GTI

Unless you have to have a car right now - I'd wait to test drive the Focus ST.

I had a MZ3 for 5 years, up until last year. Had a I waited till the MS3 was released (wasnt known if it was coming to US) I would have bought it then, but I want to try out a different car.

I have money to burn now! I was waiting for the C-Max Hybrid, but I'm getting tired of waiting. I almost said screw it and bought a Challenger last week. I dont like the idea of driving the "People's Car". The one time I had one (Rabbit) I crashed it into a light pole.

The "face" looks like this smiley: D:

hahahah yeah, I guess it does. Especially with the headlight option that follows the road, so the eyes can look to the left or right.

BRZ's rear seats fold down.

Doesnt seem like enough space. I use hatches like trucks.

ABOMINATION!!!

Lol I guess they're allright, but I would sooner eat a .44 to the face than spend $30k on a mini, I don't care if it came with free blowjobs for a month.

That car is 31K ? Give me a Bicycle and a heavy jacket then. No freaking way, never, ever.

GTI or WRX would be a much better value. Heck even a slightly used 335 or similiar makes more sense. Don't buy that thing new. Throwing away cash bud.

I'm not a fan of how EVERYTHING is an option on a mini. From different steering wheels to seats and colors to just about a million things that wouldn't have to be an 'option' on the majority of cars.

I understand that it's to give it a uniqueness to the each car a person buys but being charged an arm and a leg for every little thing is not cool.

I started off by looking at used ones, but finding a good color, moon roof, 6 speed, etc, got me to check out a new one with options. I'll still look at used ones. I have a deposit on a Prius C at $24K, as originally I wanted a car with good mileage. They are scarce at the moment so I still have a couple weeks minimum to browse.

I looked at hatch WRXs, but the mileage isnt what I wanted, and the same with the Challenger, although I will eventually get one. The RT pushes the price to around $35K with no extra options, and that is starting to eat into house down payment territory. The Cooper S seemed like a good compromise between fun to drive and practical. The Focus ST with premium electronics will probably come in around the same price. Anyways, nothing is set in stone at this point. But if I were to get a used Mini and loved it, I know I'd regret not getting it new.

this is how i feel about ANY Ford vehicle.

Welcome to the world of German cars.

IMO child's you need to step way way away from the computer for a while. You want a C max hybrid, but since there isn't one you put a deposit on a Prius c. And then almost bought a challenger instead last week and now you're onto a mini. You are grasping at straws, the straws each being a different way to spend money, like a sailor at port looking to blow his cash as fast as he can!

If you don't have a terminal illness I don't understand the rush; you're going to get something you are not happy with due to impatience.

BRZ's rear seats fold down.

The Mini's seats fold down as well.

It actually has an impressive amount of cargo space once those useless rear seats are down. No grown adult in their right mind would sit back there anyway.

I kinda like how overpriced MINI's are... it keeps the resale value of my 2007 Cooper high 🙂

You can buy so much of almost any kind of car for $31000.

QFT! Yeah, OP if you go to the used market, for your budget 31k you can easily get a E46 M3, 335i, S2000, WRX STi, Mitsubishi Evo MR/GSR, C6 Corvette, G37-S coupe, 370Z, ... plus many many more awesome cars that are WAY BETTER THAN A MINI.
