So all the stuff that happened in Charlottesville, the woman killed, the church shootings in Charleston which killed 9 people were just a big ho-hum to those people? These crimes all had their genesis in racism. Nobody cares? What about the synagogue shootings? Another ho-hum?

The only valid reason to hesitate to denounce it, is a sense of bewilderment that you'd even be asked that. White people are not accustomed to being profiled on the basis of their race, and one of the few reasons to ask that, would be simply because they are white. So in the time they take to collect themselves, it would be considered hesitating.

Even if someone asked me out of the blue, I might hesitate for a second out of bewilderment and then immediately condemn white nationalism, and then maybe move on to asking why someone would ask me that in the first place. Notice Trump doesn't do that. He can't condemn them. He just immediately tries to turn it around on the person asking the question.

You are also ignoring the fact that a huge portion of the nation is talking about whether or not he supports them so the idea that someone asking him directly is a weird thing to do is preposterous anyway.
