How does one come up with such unique user names for forum usage?

I am trying to come up with a user name for another forum I frequent. I used to go by a bunch of weird letters but I decided to go by something else. I'm trying to think of something unique I can have the mod change it to. How did you come up with your unique name? I know Nocturnal isn't that unique but it's unique to me because I didn't see someone with it and then say hey I'm gonna use that name!

I'd not seen anyone else with the username of Confused.

I came up with that when I got Unreal, and was playing it online, and needed a name. Myself and a friend were throwing ideas around, most of which were crap, and then I just said "Oh, i'm so confused!", and he said to use Confused, which has stuck since.

Edit: And i've only seen a couple of others using the name Confused as well on the forums i've visited and games i've played.

Mine is part of an email string i used to have (madness@moonshine_hollow.com) so i started using it.
For places like websites i own or my dynamic dns it is moonshine-hollow or moonshine_hollow
For people ie my name on forums its moonshine_madness also for emails if i can i still have madness@moonshine-hollow.blah

Call me picky and weird but everytime I think up something and I go through with the change, I come up with something else or I end up not liking it. Is it my OCD kicking in or what? This time I'm going to pick one and stick with it, forever. Or at least ONE year. Ahh the mods at this other forum are gonna love me. J/k they're already my friends so I hope they don't mind.

Ive thought about changing mine a few times but its so damn hard, new emails everyone has to know about, chaging gaming names and names on forums i frequent.....ahhh its easier to stick with mine

It's unique enough that nobody knows what in the hell my user name means, and they feel sorry for anyone who has it as a real name

*EDIT* I go by Lead_Poisoning in most FPS games. When I was into car racing games, Motor City Online specifically, I went by 5thElement because there was a group of 4 people I was friends with who needed a 5th club member to be competative in the weekly standings... so I joined them and changed my username and suddenly we were ranked #2 on most tracks =) Before that it was Olds442 because I love Oldsmobile 442's. In MMORRPG's I go by a different handle, but I like it so much I'm not sharing it so some buttwipe here doesn't steal it =)

I've yet to ever use a handle that consisted of numbers in any way.

I've always racked my brain for as long as necessary to find something at least moderately creative yet relatively simple.

It's sort of like thinking up a cool band name. Just think about a term used in daily situations to mean something that people don't really think of in a single word context. Or at least that's what I do.
