How does one come up with such unique user names for forum usage?

a couple years ago my name was fitting. i came here to get answers to questions. now I try and give answers as well.

I always figured that Skoorb was the bastard love child of that Hispanic soccer announcer and Mushmouth from the Cosby Kids. "Scooooooooooooooooooorrre-b".
 
When i was signing up again under a new name my mouse wasn't working very well. I didn't give any actual thought to a username, just typed in the first phrase that came to mind.

I have sinced cleaned my mouse, and it works fine 😀 .
 
I obviously have no clue on how to pick a unique username... i got caught up int the whole Y2K thing back in 2000. my username sucks.
 
on an sc server where i used to play i picked blackdog because it's the name of a led zeppelin song i like.

when i switched to another server where my other friends played that name was taken so i appended my irl nick to it.
 
I came up with mine when I randomly pressed my keyboard until something that actually sounded sane popped up.

are you straighedge or something? that's the only time i've seen x's used like that.

mine is aztec, the shortest word i could find that can somewhat be easily pronounced.

Two guys named Brooks I knew when I used to go to this LAN gaming center both went by Skoorb 😛
 
I got my name when I was eating some Oreo cookies and was listening to "Time for me to fly" by REO Speedwagon, I looked at the Oreo package and noticed O + REO = OREO, OREOSpeedwagon 😛
 
i got my name from that guy named frost from the movie "blade" cause i thought he was cool plus i wanted something computer related in it also
 
I wanted just "Ness" but it was taken... by someone who hasn't logged on in about 3 years 🙁

I use Ness as a handle because I look like the game character (from earthbound, Smash Brothers)

so I added the 1469 just like my AIM SN has, which I added in the first place when I first got AIM 6 years ago. The 1-4-69 was added because I was a little perverted high school kid :-x

If *cough cough* any mods were ever kind enough to get rid of that other "Ness" and drop the 1469 off my name I'd love them forever :heart:

That's how I pick names for characters in games, random letters until the make something that can be pronounced.
 
Now that I think about it, I can't remember exactly how I came up with mine.

I think that it had something to do with a game of quake 2 that I was playing on a server. I didn't have a real name yey, and this one guy kept being a piece of $hit camper (ie...chicken $hit). I think my name had something to do with that.

I have yet to see my handle used anywhere that isn't me!
