How does my electric toothbrush charge?

There are no metal contacts to speak of, and everything is 'coated' with a thin film of plastic.

But it's rechargable. How does this work?

My Oral-B doesn't show metal either.. just put it on the plastic base and a green light should stay on.

inductive charging is a waste of energy IMHO. Sure, it's marginally safer, but at those voltages it really doesn't matter. And it's a LOT less efficient.
