haha youll notice he hasnt bothered to reply... Maybe he stopped getting his meats from McDonalds.

You do understand that even ground turkey has 50% of the calories coming from fat, right?

We mix 75% ground beef with 25% ground turkey. it is sooo darn good.

I use ground turkey or ground chicken more often than I use ground beef. Chili with ground turkey is darn good.

ohh ground chicken. hmm sounds good.

huh? what kind of meat are you buying? The only thing I can think of that approaches 50% fat is LARD :)

50% fat? you really need to select leaner cuts.
and venison ftw. venison is the leanest meat going.

I believe the OP is referring to the amount of cals that come from fat. For example, 80% lean ground beef has around 70% of calories coming from fat.

only if you eat it raw

The OP's self-pwnage aside ;) , I feel compelled to say that eating fat does not necessarily make one fat. Fat is a necessary dietary component. All things in moderation, of course, but cutting too much fat from your diet will probably be compensated by increased carb intake, which would be more likely to make you fat and diabetic than just moderate fat intake. Funny, isn't that what the stupid low-fat craze of the past couple decades already did to America?

OP your rant makes no sense. As others have pointed out, you can simply buy 96% lean beef. If your local store doesn't carry it, then you should find one that does. Boneless skinless chicken breasts are also a good choice, as is tuna, buffalo, and fish. Even the fish with fat in it such as salmon is still good for you, as all of the fat is polyunsaturated and contains omega-3 fatty acids.

Did you even read that "what a bodybuilder eats" link I posted in your "why do I look terrible" thread you posted last night?

Guys...I really think he means the amount of calories a person gets from fats found in meats vs. actual fat content...or, at least I hope he does.

Regardless, I'm going to say..."HUH???"

Tuna, Chicken, and Turkey are extremely lean, so much so that you really needn't worry about the fat content of any of them. We're talking about lean cuts here...ie, chicken breast (without the skin).

Sirloin is good for beef. Ground beef is good to, just go with the 7% fat variety, and a lot of that cooks out.

I really don't know what you're getting at homie...

No, the numbers that you see in the store are by weight, not caloric density.

If you're eating meat for extra protein due to lifting, fish is one of the best ways to go.

The fat doesn't magically disappear when it is cooked. Some can be drained off and some is still in the meat. Do a search on fitday for various cooking methods of lean ground beef, you will see that the fat macros are above 50% for all cooking methods.

sigh... this is vintage 1990 thinking/marketing. Not that red meat is the best source of fat, since it's mostly of the saturated variety, but a little sat fat is OK.

Figure out your goals, plan your caloric needs to meet those goals, get some protein, lift heavy stuff.

You fail at teh nutrition.

Without fats, we would not exist. Fats are a necessary part of our diet.

You need some fat on you. Your body will consume muscle when it looks for energy reserves. Unless you are extremely buff, you need fat. And there is no way you got buff without eating meats without much fat.

Whut?

You need protein to build lean muscle mass, not fat.

I don't think your body directly stores the fat you eat.
