I visited that website once because I was curious, but I regret it after seeing pictures of people gruesomely killed.

I'd post a link but it could be bannable. 4Chan is an image sharing board. /b/ is the subdirectory of the "random" section (almost anything goes). Other boards include /wg/ (wallpapers, great place for unique backgrounds), /t/ for torrents etc. /b/ is pretty much the cesspool of the internet.

This is true, i have heard bad stuff about 4chan. Dont know if rumors are true or not. Dont wanna find out either

kinda like atot, the rest of the internet, and real life.

This. I see what you did there. Bulk beef. Alternator sized. Stance of dominance. Etc.

Yup, forum posters have no original ideas.

4chan lately has also had a number of people post links to a site to get you hacked, then they all laugh when someone clicks on it and even encourage it. They also have forum wars between different sections where they send all their spambots to attack using DDOS etc.. So if you do click on stuff there you have to be very careful to not allow any kind of javascript / activeX, etc. or otherwise you're almost guaranteed to get hacked.

The so-called "anon" crew has a bunch of hackers within that love to mess with people, so tread carefully.

Yeah I always follow your original posts...they are so riveting.

<akbar>it's a tarp!</akbar>

I can browse all sorts of imgboards on 4chan for hours at a time, you just have to turn off your sensitivites, it really isn't THAT bad

although, like someone mentioned, when they go on an animaged .gif run of security cameras capturing people getting killed greusomely, i have to stop looking after a short while

I agree it's mostly not bad and good for some laughs, but there seems to be a lot more gore lately which I don't have the stomach for.

Yeah there's been a few times I've gone there to see people posting .gif's of messed up killing of animals, etc.. Last time I was there someone posted a gif of a mouse being tossed into a coffee grinder and getting shredded. There was another time someone posted a cat getting crushed to death, it was pretty sick.

I love 4chan. You just gotta take it for what it is and leave any sort of sensibilities at the door.

Furthermore the /hr/ - high resolution - board usually has some pretty kick-ass images.

I don't get why:

1) furries --- so fucking gay, its off the scale
2) cocks ---- why do you want guys on the internet rating your cock ? so fucking gay, its off the scale
3) CP/pedobear --- its not funny or entertaining. Its fucking sick. Its so sick its off the scale.

However...in the absence of the above there are some epic wins from time to time. After MJ died there were a flurry of funnies.

After hearing about his death and after turning on CNN, the first thing I did was hit up 4chan. The /b/tards did not dissapoint.

4chan has gone the shitter mostly. First /b/ went down, with all hopes of humor of even discussion going out the window. Now it's just formulaic vomit.

I then fled to /v/, but now even /v/ is just /b/ with video games.

I have fled again to even more obscure parts of 4chan...

I miss the days where 4chan would make me laugh :(

/cooking had some really long running discussion about home brewing

/tv is filled with megan fox or glau

/s is usually well moderated

I usually just lurk - every so often I contribute with a "Motivate Me" thread. Anyhow, over the years I've been lurking I think with 4chan becoming less and less obscure has drawn more idiots to the site.

Every couple of weeks I'll find something funny as hell - but it used to be just about every day I could find some crazy something or another to laugh at.

/b/ has gone up and down since the beginning. Those members then just pick another forum there (usually /gif/ or one of the hardcores)...

4chan has always been a stomping ground for those that can take a joke, put themselves out there or just blantent trolls.

I know why those here don't get it, yet still think they want to be associated with that counterculture. Fuck most dudes here think a 19 yo chick that has had sex with one other dude is already damaged goods.

here is the main thing people: IT'S A PUBLIC FORUM! Create your own content if you don't like what's being served. If what is being shown offends you, move on...don't go and pull up all replies.

It's like here...topics are very clear, yet people come into them to whine about 'why is this getting posted again'...just fucking ignore it...not everyone sees the internut in real time 24/7 as they sometimes interact with others.

This x1000. It's pretty much like an abusive relationship that you just can't stop going back for more of.

4chan can get you into legal trouble.
?

Well . . . 4chan does get behind some seedy things. I think only one person has actually been prosecuted - for hacking into the Scientology website.

On the flip side, a couple of months ago some dumbass teenager from Oklahoma videotaped himself abusing his cat (we'll never forget you Dusty!) and posted the video to YouTube. 4chan has a soft side for cats, and just ruined that punk kid's life. It got so far that the sheriff's office in Oklahoma got involved and threw the kid into J.V. and turned the cat over to the SPCA. So, in very few instances 4chan can be a force of good.
