"Hello:
We are a bookseller, and we are interested in purchasing this book for a client. Would you be able to send the book directly to him without a packing slip or other pricing information? Thank you for your consideration! "

If it isn't a lot of money i'd say go for it. If it's some rare book and worth a lot, maybe not. Could be a scam (Stolen paypal account, having the item shipped somewhere else, not the address confirmed by paypal)

... next they'll ask if they can pay you by Western Union in eGold.

I know I've read about someone who makes a living doing that on ebay. Find books that they know they can sell to someone for more, and have the ebay seller ship them directly.

I don't think I'd do it just in case there was a shipping problem. I would politely decline saying, "Sorry, I prefer to deliver the item to the person who is paying for it."

if you are a powerseller, it doesn't matter since all your addresses are confirmed.

if they send a money order, sure. Either way if it's not expensive do it, you won't get scammed on a shitty book.

I also sell books on ebay. In the past I've done that, but I wouldn't any more. The number of problems I've had in the past year or two have exploded. You're letting yourself open for complications, shipping problems, negative feedback, complaints and whatnot. It's not worth it, in my opinion.

i would not do that, i mean if he has a buyer, chances are people are looking for this book and you won't have a problem getting rid of it.

I don't trust book dealers. But this is mostly because of my experience watching the 9th gate.

Get the contact information of where to send the book. Refund the bidders money. Contact the one who wants the book and get more for it than you would on Ebay.

I am half-ferengi.

First you must say he is a moron, and then you need to call into question the lineage of his mother.

This would only be an issue with Paypal. If you have an email through ebay with instructions for delivery as well as proof of delivery (not delivery confirmation), you should be ok.

Paypal payment will not work for this though unless the buyer is a major vendor.

we used to drop ship, but we'd always include a card with the package :)
