Thanks for the detailed answer. And I can absolutely relate to your experience
Do you get that depressive 'tinge' or episode when you see flouroscent light, and warm sunlight really helping?
People are also considering codifying the screen response in electronic screen syndrome, but it has a long way to go in terms of recognition from the scientific community. I'll reduce screen time but its the main therapy for the social withdrawal.
It's hard to tell if lighting helps or if it's just placebo, but I did swap out all the bulbs in my house for "daylight", and at work I use a SAD lamp and it does seem to help. Especially on night shifts, or weekend day shifts, since I'm alone in the building so can't really leave to go take a break outside.
I will know for sure in winter if it helps, as that's when I don't see natural day light. Basically for a good 6 months of the year it's dark before work and dark after work, so I can go weeks without seeing daylight. When I worked lot of night shifts I would go months, because even on my days off I was sleeping in too much so by the time I got up it was already dark out. I stopped working so many night shifts now, in hopes that it helps.
