How do you say SQL???

I use either SQL or sequel. One of my old co-workers (laid off last year ) would say squeal sometimes.

I hear Sequel all the time...but I still call it SQL and have worked with it for over 6 years. Saying S-Q-L will never make you look clueless.

I say 'S-Q-L' when talking about actual queries and stuff, but if I'm talking about mySQL I say 'My Sequel' because its easier to say.

Sequel is actually wrong because there was a database language prior to SQL called Sequel.

Thats right, do to copyright issues, it is now officially called S Q L

On a more serious note, I think S Q L is really the correct way cuz in German, we can't just say "Sequel".

When I hire contractors if they say "ess kew ell" I know I have to check their references, and they usually have never actually worked with the stuff.

All the guys I hire call it "seekwull".
