If I say something like "I just posted in that thread" with the "thread the needle" pronounciation it sounds very akward to me.

I call shens...nobody is this stupid.

Wow, what an insightful response

O.K. I guess you aren't kidding...you really are stupid.

Suit yourself.

You know, I'm just going to start pronouncing "BigToque" like "Bye-j Talk-kyoo" from now on because it just FEELS more right. I mean, there has to be different pronunciations for those words anyway...

It's pronounced like red. Conceptually it is the same as a piece of thread.

Do you pronounce "stack" as steak or steek?

Neither?

c'mon....the trap was set. Don't trip is yet. ;)

Thread pronounced like threed? This has to be a joke by the OP.

I think I will pronounce it three-ad.

There's nothing wrong with making an az of yourself on on-on-dee-tech's fore-rooms.

While we're sort of on the subject, how do you guys pronounce Anandtech? I think Anand is Indian since that is an Indian name, so it would really be "Un-undh-tech," but I just say "An-and-tech."

Also, what about "ATOT"? i always says say "Ay-Tee-Oh-Tee," but I wonder if anyone says "A-Tott."

I pronounce it uh-nand-tek, and Ay-Tot.

And OP is a moron.

When talking about website postings or the number of "threads" an application has, how do you pronounce the word?

I've always pronounced it threed (kinda like Creed). (TH - READ)

It just sounds wierd to pronounce it Thread as in "Thread the needle"

I can't be the only one...

I find it easier to pronounce it the way I do as opposed pronouncing it like "thread the needle".

If I say something like "I just posted in that thread" with the "thread the needle" pronunciation it sounds very akward to me.

that's exactly what it means though... it's a thread of posts that are all related. wtf is "threed" and "akward" ?
