If I say something like "I just posted in that thread" with the "thread the needle" pronounciation it sounds very akward to me.
I call shens...nobody is this stupid.
Wow, what an insightful response
O.K. I guess you aren't kidding...you really are stupid.
Suit yourself.

No you cannot nominate this thread for pwnage of the year award... Quite simply because its not a thread, its a TH-REED!

It's pronounced like red. Conceptually it is the same as a piece of thread.
Do you pronounce "stack" as steak or steek?

You are the only one. A thread on a forum is the same word as a cloth thread. "Threed" is not a word in any context. It's actually harder to say too, so I don't know why you would continue saying it.
While we're sort of on the subject, how do you guys pronounce Anandtech? I think Anand is Indian since that is an Indian name, so it would really be "Un-undh-tech," but I just say "An-and-tech."
Also, what about "ATOT"? i always says say "Ay-Tee-Oh-Tee," but I wonder if anyone says "A-Tott."

When talking about website postings or the number of "threads" an application has, how do you pronounce the word?
I've always pronounced it threed (kinda like Creed). (TH - READ)
It just sounds wierd to pronounce it Thread as in "Thread the needle"
I can't be the only one...

I find it easier to pronounce it the way I do as opposed pronouncing it like "thread the needle".
