How do you play the damned guitar?

Taking lessons....Chords, Scales, doing fast chord changes...some tabs of other peoples music that I feel like attempting.

at least an hour a day....average anyways...I have gone for over 5 hours on a weekend though

Keep up that pace, and you should be a superstar in about 19 months and 14 days.

i had 2 ibanez guitars in my time trying to play. just frustrated myself to no end.

I used to try and play guitar. I have no rhythm at all though. Also my fingers are fat. I couldn't hit the right string with the pick. Basically everything about it was a complete failure in every possible way.

It's usually slow to begin with, then it'll pick up faster, then slower. Learning sorta comes in bursts for me.

Oh yeah, there's no way in hell I'd have a Floyd Rose tremolo.

My guitar

It's a beautiful instrument. I have the Canadian made version with the clear pick guard.

It's so far above my skill level that I was motivated to get lessons, which is my reccomendation to OP. Lessons from an instructor you like and an hour of practive 4-6 days a week or more.
