I use assorted ship names from Freespace 2

My server is Ravana, my desktop is Perseus, my laptop is pegasus and my old laptop is Nahema

my sisters computer is CWIN (Computer Without Interesting Name)

Do a search for a company named "SOLFAN", the story behind thier name is "Sick Of Looking For A Name". Seriously.

IBWSxx, IBDCxx, IBMSxx

EDIT: That would stand for my initials: IB, workstation/domain controller/member server: WS/DC/MS, and then the number.

I was just thinking from the thread title alone that the geeky answer would be simpsons characters, the really geeky answer would be LOTR characters and the UBER geeky answer would be Star Trek names.

Lo and behold, all three are representin' in this thread!

😛

My boss has a thing for star trek so the servers get names like enterprise and excelsior. Workstation get names based on hardware such as PIV2000-J, PIII1000-S or PIV2400-D

Jane
