Thick. Don't overboard the meat, but load up on beans, peppers, onions, whatever else you put in there. If I wanted soup I'd buy Campbell's.
Campbell's Chunky? :p

campbell's chili isn't too bad. bush's is better though and is actually pretty darn good for a premade chili.

That's how I usually like chili. So "sorta soupy" as Mosh said would be a good description.

ill take a thick chili over a runny chili tho.
I agree.

Franks is good stuff. I buy that and two local hot sauces.

For anyone who is interested, here is my thread at TFNN.net. You have to sign up to see the pics (I think?) but thread is SFW.

The recipe used is from Cheli's Chili in Detroit and has a couple mods since I didn't have a lot of time or $ to get the exact identical ingredients (some of those called for in the recipe are not available here so I had to improvise).

It was my fourth batch so I'm still an amateur chili cook but I'm getting better!

Soupy.. almost watery in texture.

JK

Anyways. I happen to have some chili ingredients in the fridge as well (beans, salsa, hotsauce, and ground beef :p). You guys have any good chili recipes? I can go out and buy more stuff.

Mine always ends up real thick, but it's consistency doesn't matter much to me. As long as it taste good and has some spiciness to it I like it either way. However, since you're cooking it because it's cold outside, I'd think that a more soupy Chilli would be better. The hot liquid will provide better warmth.

Gotta love skyline chili in ohio, very odd taste, but very addictive.

However, nothing beats Green Bay's Chili Johns Now with more lard. Its very thick.

In between but more on the thick side with lots of saltines! Beans are OK but I prefer no beans.

Me too. I prefer my chili on the thick side, but with enough "juice" to work with a few crackers...I HATE watery/soupy chili. It's GOTTA be HOT though...both heat hot and spicy hot...(there is a limit to how much "chili powder" should be in it though...I'd rather have some real chili's thrown in for flavor)
"mild chili" is just a bowl of bean soup with a few farts thrown in...:D
