seriously.

Do you just kinda start looking at guys, then it hits you, or what?
Or are you gay from birth?

How do you know?

The same way people know they are heterosexual.

Whether or not it's from birth or not is something that no one on this board can answer.

I don't think anyone is born gay. Then again, no one is born straight. It is all on how you are raised.

Genetically, man are attracted to females (all that cr@p about nature and pheramones)

When you're gay, you'll probably notice the change in the elevation of your pants as you look at people

Why, do you think you might be gay? if not, I'd jsut assume that you feel the way you feel about girls, except about guys instead.

that's an interesting statement. what do you think about the other animals then? are we somehow different in this aspect than other species, or is the sexual orientation of say... a cow, also dependant on how it's raised?

If you are more oriented towards members of the same sex, emotionally and sexually, you may be gay.

I seriously doubt it's got much to do with how you're raised. My best friend AND his brother are gay, and their family is perfectly "normal".

That dont work out too well. All humans and animals have a natural tendency to head towards the opposite sex. Trust me, raising two Bulls together wont get you the results you want.

that doesn't mean anything, just because the family is normal doesn't mean that there weren't other "un normal" people that came in contact with the two boys. i doubt the genetic influence is strong enough to be solely reponsible for two brothers to be gay. if this were true, hypothetically, if you forced them to have sex with women, i would expect the offspring to be gay. but this is doubtful, imho.

I don't mean to say that it's purely genetic. I just don't think that the way a child is raised has as much an influence as some people suggest. And by that, I mean life in the home. Obviously a child will be influenced by certain things, but parents are (I think, anyway), not largely responsible for homosexuality.

I talked to a gay male before, and he told me you know when you're gay. You don't wonder if you're gonna be gay, or if you might be gay, you are gay period.

If you think you might be gay... do you fantasize about guys? Do you feel attracted towards men? Do you not have an interest in any women? Do you have an attachment towards men? Also have you looked at guys from when you were little? The guy I spoke with said that he knew he was gay when he was 5 years old. You aren't just gonna wake up one day and say "I think today I'm gay."

<< he told me you know when you're gay >>

Unfortunately, it's not that easy for a lot of people. My friend (who I've mentioned previously) was very anti-homosexual for quite some time. He would make fun of his brother (who had come out privately about a year prior) and only associated romantically with girls. However, it was a pretty sudden realization for him that, for most of this life, he was living a lie.

Society can have so great an influence on people that they will convince themselves they "just like everyone else". That was the case with my friend, but he is much happier and more secure now.

People are born with their sexual identies already in place, BUT:

How you are raised can make you more or less likely to accept who you are.

Gay/Lesbian couples are not more likely to raise gay childrean. But their children are less likely to be ashamed of being gay, and are less likely to hold back their identities. They are more likely to grow up in a family that will accept them for who they are, because chances are, their parents have been through experiences where they were persecuted for who they were.

It has been shown that gay people have physical differences in their brains. There are areas in gay men's brains which are similar to women's and vise versa. Meanwhile, acting "typically gay," or being flamboyant is certainly a learned behavior. But sexual preference is in the genetic makeup. Why else would there be gay animals? (If you haven't seen a cat or dog try to hump their own sex, you haven't been around too many animals.) That is certainly NOT as "learned" behavior.

Think about this: Why in the hell would anyone want to be gay? It's nothing but trouble! That's like deciding to profess your love of Macs to the members of AT forums because you think it is cool.

Edit: Being sexually molested or tramatized by an individual is a completely different subject than whether or not you are actually gay. Gay tendancies following such an experience are only a symptom of the individual trying to deal with it. It's no different than turning in a pyscho or something. Except less harmful to others, obviously.

People aren't born gay. You can't prove it, so I chose to believe something a little more likely.

You know you're gay when you pull your schlong out da other guy's poo-shoot and you realize that you like it.

Statments like this only enforce other people's perception of you as a homophobic person who isn't mature enough to even have something meaningful to add to the conversation.

Everybody is gay.

-If you are a guy who likes guys, then you're gay.
-If you are a guy who likes women, then your are a gay women trapped in a man's body
-If you are a woman who likes women, then you are gay and you should send me pictures of you asap.
-If you are a woman who likes man, than you are a gay man trapped in a woman's body.
