..and flipping someone off is probably the most pathetic insult there is. "Hey look, here is my finger!" It usually looks really good in your head but isn't very effective.

Don't they have driveways around where you live? That would solve everyones problem. Or do you live in condos? I'm having a hard time invisioning your area.

I don't park in front of their house because I want to or because it is fun. When I get home at night there are no parking spots in front of my house. So I go for the first parking spot I see. Which usually just so happens to be in front of there house. First come , First serve. Now, every time I do this the wife or daughter come outside and start yelling at me to move my non-POS truck and I always just ignore. But after hearing this constantly and knowing I am in the right, I just had enough and I snapped. I didn't mean to make the illegal comment, which was completely unfounded. I just can't stand them complaining to me when I have done nothing wrong. I just want some advice on how to handle this civilly.

I suspected it was probably an issue with a lack of parking spaces. That's how it was for me in Denver. I only once ever left a mean note because a guy would take up four or five spaces with his empty trailer hitched to his extended bed truck.

Anyway, though hilarious, the deportation comment has already ended any possibility of civility.

You have a drive way? You could just pull halfway up in it. As long as you aren't sticking out past the parked cars it should be fine.

In case you were wondering here's the parking situation on the street when I get home at night.

Note: Not every house has a driveway.

You have four cars, so who are the gimps parking outside your place? Are those also your cars?

Only one other car out there is ours, and I don't really care who parks out there even if it means I have to park elsewhere.

Can't, my brothers leave early morning for work and it causes a big mess.

I have stupid neighbors, but I'm on the opposite side of you. I don't care if someone parks in front of our place, but if you park in the red blocking our tiny garage you're getting towed. For the first few months I left polite notes asking people not to park in the red because it makes our garage useless, but they took them as nasty letters. So now we just ticket or tow, depending on whether or not we need to get out.

PS - I rent, so does everyone in the area. I tried the nice route, now I'm just punishing.

the people across the street from me do the same thing. everytime anyone parks their car in front of their house (on the street btw) they threaten them with a note and how they are goign to call the cops.

they have an empty driveway, and a 2 car garage where they usually park their cars, yet they seems to always complain when there's a car in front of their house. i'm always tempted to park in front of their house every night, since i get home before them, but i figure its not a good idea to piss off your neighbors.

The best way to deal with idiot neighbors is to just ignore them.

That sounds like something a Canadian would say.

My god...I want your neighbours. Retards living next door park ON our property. Bigger problem is we do NOT have an effing driveway. They park their mother effing pickups and cars onto our front lawn repeatedly, blocking our freaking walkway and front door. Retards have to climb out the window cause there's no space between the other car and our fence. Getting close to keying their car...

Ignorance goes a long way, especially if you know for a fact what you're doing is legal.

In fact, encourage them to call the cops. When they tell your neighbors that it is perfectly legal to be parking in front of their house, and the neighbors still come knocking on your door to complain, then its YOUR TURN to call the cops.

You are calling them stupid and you don't know the difference between "their" and "there?"

He who lives in glass house should not throw stones.

Well we're talking in regards to the law, not grammar.

Go be a grammar Nazi in someone else's thread.

Spelling Nazi...since I assume you probably did know what you were intending to say but you just didn't know the correct spelling of this simple 5 letter word that millions of people use in daily conversations. Again. . .who's the stupid one in this situation? The way you handled it aims the blame squarely in your direction. If you wanted to have the upper hand then when they threatened to call the police you should have warmly invited them saying only, "Please do. Then we can end this silly argument for good once the cops come and inform you that I am perfectly within my rights to park my car there."

Oh shut up already you huge Spelling/Grammar Nazi whore. We get it.

If they're really parking on your property without your permission, call the cops and/or have them towed...
