well, actually I am going through this right now only I am the guy b!tching because his a$$hole neighbor parks on my property.....how do I handle it? I call the cops and let them know that you are there....then in 4 hours if you don't move your vehicle I have you towed.

after doing that a few times people like you get the hint and if you don't then we go to the next step which is criminal trespass.

First of all, it makes no difference whether they rent or own. They have every right to live there and you seem to be a bigot for making a comment like telling them they'll get deported. That probably "seemed to work" because they were in shock at what a jackass of a neighbor they have.

You are taking their parking spot. No Matlock, it isn't illegal, but it makes you the "stupid neighbor" to park in front of their house and get mad when they ask you not to. Its common courtesy to leave the spot in front of the house open to the person living there. I've had neighbors complain to me about the same thing and I understood and stopped parking there. It isn't that big of a deal and I appreciated the courtesy being reciprocated.

Just out of curiosity and because I am a glutton for punishment. Where do they park?

He who lives in glass house should not throw stones.

Well we're talking in regards to the law, not grammar.

Go be a grammar Nazi in someone else's thread.

Spelling Nazi...since I assume you probably did know what you were intending to say but you just didn't know the correct spelling of this simple 5 letter word that millions of people use in daily conversations. Again. . .who's the stupid one in this situation? The way you handled it aims the blame squarely in your direction. If you wanted to have the upper hand then when they threatened to call the police you should have warmly invited them saying only, "Please do. Then we can end this silly argument for good once the cops come and inform you that I am perfectly within my rights to park my car there."

Go work on your grammar before harping on other people's spelling.

Maybe you can get them to start yelling at the people who park in front of your house.
Everybody wins!
Ok, well, you two win.

You guys are a bunch of hypocrites. Always acting like you're so much better than everyone else. I seriously doubt you've never been pissed at anyone or have never offended anyone. Now I suggest unless you've never been in a verbal or physical altercation with someone, you STFU and offer some GOOD advice and get off you damn high horses.

Like everyone else in my neighborhood, they park where they can and it must bug them. First come, First serve.

I'm the Jackass? That's a laugh.

I don't park in front of their house because I want to or because it is fun. When I get home at night there are no parking spots in front of my house. So I go for the first parking spot I see. Which usually just so happens to be in front of there house. First come , First serve. Now, every time I do this the wife or daughter come outside and start yelling at me to move my non-POS truck and I always just ignore. But after hearing this constantly and knowing I am in the right, I just had enough and I snapped. I didn't mean to make the illegal comment, which was completely unfounded. I just can't stand them complaining to me when I have done nothing wrong. I just want some advice on how to handle this civilly.

If they started by yelling at you first and not asking you politely, then I can see how that would be irritating and I might even get some enjoyment out of parking in front of their house. However you messed up by flipping out on them, you should've just kept on living your life and ignored them. Now that you made racist comments and got into some argument with them, this isn't going to be handled civilly. Just keep doing what you want and keep getting yelled at and ignore it.

The thing is even if "they started it" by yelling at you out of nowhere, you are still being a jackass by yelling back. You're just making a fool of yourself right along with them.

Here's the thing. We don't care if people park in front of our house because it is public domain. It would be nice, but sometimes we don't all get what we want.

It is very good advice but it's not what you want to hear. You want everyone to say you are right but it won't happen. If you could look at the situation objectively you would realize you're being an ass.

Actually, you already lost the opportunity to handle this in a civil manner when you flipped them off and threatened deportation (not even knowing if they were leagal or not). Now you just have to worry about possible retaliation from them if they aren't the type to let it blow over.

Why is he being an ass? Because he is parking in front of their house when there is no spot in front of his own? I am sure he would park in front of his own house if it were possible.

I thought the deported comment was funny...even if it may have been inappropriate. Start putting your guns in the gun rack, and get your bumper sticker that says "Guns don't kill people, I kill people" and they won't key your car.

So it's a free for all parking situation... but that one spot always seems to be open? Something isn't lining up here.

difrent situation. in yours you say they are parking on your property. that is diffrent from a idiot parking in front of your house on the street.

It's legal, so continue to do it if you wish. Just realize it's not a great idea to piss off people who know where you live.

I found the deported comment and the fact that it seemed to work hysterical.

No, I don't want people to tell me I'm right. Unless you've been paying attention, I've already admitted that I was wrong and am now currently seeking advice. Ignoring a situation is ****** advice and will never fix the problem. I want to fix the problem.

Sorry OP, but by the sounds of it, you're the jackass neighbor. Going to have to agree with Tuktuk here.

And before you make any assumption, I've been in plenty of tense moments with people. Flipping the bird never makes it any better, you're just showing your immaturity. If it's perfectly legal, let them call the cops and enjoy your victory when the cops tell them there's nothing that can be done.

No, that shows he behaved like an ass in one instance.
Your saying that he is "being an ass" implies it is an ongoing situation.
