We took care of my father in law for his last couple months before the AML took him. Or rather the pneumonia due to treatment suppressing his immune system.
While he suffered from quite a lot of pain, he still managed to keep his sanity and dignity. The last months were a special period of bonding and I have much love and fond memories of the man.
OTOH, I am convinced that infusion centers are just as bad as hospitals for spreading disease and are totally counter productive for treatment of immunosuppressed patients. In home care would have been best, but wasn't covered because he didn't require hospice.
