I'm just starting to sell on eBay for the first time and am concerned about the new direction they're taking as outlined in this article by the NYTimes.

I'm wondering if I'm wasting my time now since eBay is clearly moving away from the private auction hosting business and trying to stick it to the little guy in favor of large resellers.
I'm hoping some entrepreneur with better coding skills than myself takes up the challenge of competing with eBay and providing a new home for the masses while leaving eBay to the fate of their new business model.
