I have the laziest approach. I fill bowl with water. Insert ramen(broken in half so it fits in the bowl. Then insert in microwave for 8 minutes. Add seasoning and stir.

you guys do it all wrong

boil water, like medium amount, not too much, but not too little. water boiling, then add the packet and noodle. mix up the noodle and when the water starts boiling again, turn off heat, and its done. its a little hard if u eat it, but its fine, cuz the noodle will continue to cook while u eat it so its all good. if you take off heat when noodle is done, the noodle will get all soft and mushy like while ur eating.

after ur done, if im still hungry, and dump a bowlful or rice. and eat the whole thing. sometimes, i dump an egg after taking off heat. finish noodle and dump rice, then eat whole thing.

Good god. How do you guys eat this stuff?

The ramen noodles that you buy in supermarkets for 20 cents a pack are not very good. Go buy some from the Asian supermarkets. They're still cheap but taste quite a bit better.

My favorite way of preparing this stuff:
1. Slice some beef into very thin strips (very very very thin). Mix a tablespoon soy sauce, finely chopped garlic, 1/2 teaspoon sugar, 1 teaspoon oil and the beef in bowl. Place a frying pan on high heat and add a little bit of oil. Once the oil is hot, toss in the beef mixture and fry it. After the meat is done, put it in a large bowl.
2. Thinly slice 1/2 a tomato and put it in the bowl with the meat. Add some thinly chopped green onion & cilantro. Add other vegetables of choice.
3. Boil some water in a pot. Put in the flavoring pack and noodles. Cook until noodle is soft. Pour this soupy mixture into your bowl of meat, tomato & vegetables.

Enjoy!

yep. And I add nori (seaweed) into it. About two sheets per package of ramen. Yummy!

excellent idea! nori is delicious (with the right food)

Put just enough water to cocver the noodles and then microwave them for 1:30, let them sit for 2minutes, pour out the water and add seasoning

Bingo. Why waste time with the stove? The broth is horrible anyway... if I want to eat it like a soup, I'll pour in some fresh boiling water with the flavouring. Much healthier and nicer, in my opinion.

To clarify, we don't have ramen in New Zealand, but I'm guessing all two-minute noodles are the same 😉

never thought about adding flavor packet last.

I might have some more.. what flavor do you recommend?

and then you're still getting 200% of your daily sodium intake every spoonful

Plus your lifetime supply of monosodium glutamate...

I boil the noodles for about 2 mins and 20 seconds. I put the seasoning at the bottom of my "special ramen bowl" 😉, and I drop the noodles into the bowl. Then I put enough hot water to cover the noodle, but I never use all the water in the pot. Sometimes I add an egg or two.

Haven't had ramen for ages, but this is how I used to do it:

Fill a pot half full with water
Add seasoning packet
Bring to a rapid boil
Add noodles
Cook just long enough that all the noodles separate
Spoon the noodles into a bowl
Top noodles with honey, then toss in some dried cayenne pepper
Discard broth

[Backpack]Yum, yum, yum! Delicioso![/Backpack]

i thought this was going to be you asking for instructions...

i dont eat ramen noodles, meh. i need meat in a meal...or chocolate, and they dont have either

and they suck

boil noodles in pot. Drain after they are done. Add half of flavoring packet so its not too salty. Add sesame oil. Add pat of butter. mix around.

could also add a fried egg/veggies/meat.

no, you get that from sprinkling loads of parmesan on your pizza or pasta.

actually its 32% per serving or 760mg 2 servings pe package. 64% 1520mg of sodium

What's wrong with 32% sodium? Even if you eat that stuff three times a day, you are only at 96% of the RDA.
don't drink the soup, and you cut down the sodium big time. the soup has no nutrtional value anyways
